Nestled in the northwestern mountains of Madeira, Portugal, lies the mystical Fanal Forest, with its unique and ancient Laurel trees and fairytale-like atmosphere, especially when fog creeps in and shrouds the famous mystically shaped trees. This stunning UNESCO site is part of the Laurissilva Forest in the greater Madeira Natural Park and sits at an altitude of around 1,150 meters. Fanal is an ideal place to enjoy moments of contemplation and relaxation - this area is classified as a 'Rest and Quiet Reserve' by the Madeira Natural Park.
