Description
The nave of the Gothic Salisbury Cathedral showcasing intricate arches, columns, stained glass windows and ceiling. The vaulted ceiling features ornate decorations, enhancing the grandeur of the space. Salisbury Cathedral is unusual for its tall and narrow nave, which has visual accentuation from the use of light grey Chilmark stone for the walls and dark polished Purbeck marble for the columns.
It was built between 1220 and 1258 and is a prime example of Early English Gothic architecture. Formally known as the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is located in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.
