Description
At the top of the High Street in the picturesque medieval Somerset village of Dunster, England is the octagonal shaped Yarn Market building. Dunster was once the hub of the thriving wool trade in Exmoor and had been the main trading port since the 12th century. The yarn market was built in 1609 when sellers were trading ‘Dunster cloth’ from local mills. The building survived the 1642 Civil War despite being hit by a cannon ball, the hole can still be seen today
